Creating vector glossy button is very simple and useful for web interface design. In this illustrator tip, I will show you how to create a quick glossy button using Screen layer blending mode.
1. The first step is to create the rounded rectangle button. Select the rounded rectangle tool and draw a button and fill it with linear gradient.
2. Next go to Object > Path > Offset Path and enter -2px for it. It will create a smaller rectangle inside. Select it and fill it with a black to white gradient.
3. Finally, set the transparency mode to screen and it will instantly turn into a white highlight. (simonsezit.com) Add in your button text on top to finish.
That was very simple. How about double gradient on top and bottom of the button?
Really enjoy the fresh look. I really liked this article. Thank you for a marvelous write.
Hi Kisan, to get a double gradient you will need to change the gradient from white to black and back to white gradient.
That sure is one useful tutorial and I was just following all the steps and have finally made my own button, thank you for sharing this great resource 🙂
